Marcelle Gauvin

CO-DIRECTOR - The Alchemy of Voice

Marcelle is an Associate Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music and serves as one of the department’s voice retraining specialists. As a jazz singer, Marcelle toured the U.S. and recorded with the Whaling City sound label. She is a senior faculty member of the Shenandoah University Contemporary Commercial Music Institute. Marcelle has  300 hours toward her 500 hour certification in Sva Ha Yoga, is a certified Energy For Life coach,  and is an Advanced Energy Medicine practitioner trained  through the Sva Ha Synergy of Sound Academy.

Marcelle's path in music is unique having studied both academically and with wisdom keepers of First People traditions.  Most recently, she returned from immersive research in Nepal, deepening her understanding of mantra and yogic bija. Through her experiences in jazz, energy medicine and the vibrational songs of earth conscious communities, Marcelle guides her students to find true vocal freedom. Her masterful knowledge of vocal function supports singers in their journey to express themselves with ease and confidence.

At the Synergy of Sound Academy, Marcelle teaches her students to actively use their voices through song interpretation, songwriting, journaling, meditation, and mantra to heal, awaken, create, and connect.
“I have worked with everyone from professional to aspiring new artists and complete beginners. The process is the same. If you can speak, you can sing. Every soul carries a song that is continuously born in the now”

Marcelle offers private sessions, classes, retreats, workshops, sacred singing circles and kirtan. She continues to perform as a professional recording artist with the intention of bringing healing and connection through her music. If you've ever yearned to sing, if singing feeds you, nurtures you, and guides you, then you are connected to sound. Her Alchemy of Voice program with Lisa Ishwari Murphy teaches how to free the music that lives within you so you may share it with the world.
